Radiant Health Centers Hiring for Referral Coordinator at United States Full Time

• Coordinates and manages authorizations for referrals from our providers to outside providers, including medical specialist and outside facilities for special testing. Must ensure that CPT and ICD-10 codes are accurate in accordance with AMA guidelines.
• Coordinates and manages authorizations for certain specialists and treatments when this is required by patients’ insurance plans. Must contact medical insurance companies and provide ICD-10 diagnosis and CPT procedure codes for patient’s illnesses, conditions, or injuries.
• Facilitates and ensures the receipt of consult notes and test results after a patient has been referred to an outside provider.
• Communicates with primary care providers to inform of any delays or barriers to patient care.
• Serves as referral department liaison to outside agencies and partners. Work directly with patients via the telephone to confirm and resolve issues regarding the primary care physician’s referral.
• Communicates with supervisor when unable to process all referral or follow-ups to avoid delays.
• Must fax and track all referrals and certificate of medical necessity.
• Run daily/weekly Referral Management s.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinic Manager or Medical Director.

• Ability to quickly respond and adapt to changing conditions and work conditions. Exercise good judgment and make sound decisions.
• Minimum 2 years healthcare referral experience, including working extensively with physicians’ offices and medical services sites preferred.
• At least 1 year experience in healthcare environment with customer service responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA, regulations.
• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.
• Strong organizational, administrative, and planning skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse patient, client, volunteer and employee populations.
• Experience working with people who are HIV+, and/or have a history of substance use disorders, mental illness, homelessness, indigence, trauma and/or those who identify as LGBTQ are gender non-conforming and/or who often face multiple issues and have complex needs.
• Must demonstrate professionalism in a variety of situations.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent experience.
