Job Description

The Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Finance Officer- Racing to join our team. This role calls for someone with energy in spades, a positive disposition and a tendency to have fun at work. As the Finance Officer, you will be responsible for administering all facets of racing industry payments, for the three racing codes (Greyhounds, Thoroughbreds and Harness), including stake money payments and industry participant debtor accounts.

A day on the job will see you:

• Respond to phone and email queries and provide timely resolutions
• Process industry payment rebates, including participant recharges, breeding scheme rebates and animal wellbeing rebates.
• Assist with rejected stake money process, processing of disqualified horses and updates to placements, ensuring timely resolution.
• Process industry payment rebates, including participant recharges, breeding scheme rebates and animal wellbeing rebates.
• Completion of monthly reconciliation of racing ledgers
• Monthly reconciliation of HRA, Freeze Branding & Greyhound Australasia Clearing Accounts for RWWA’s Balance Sheet

Qualifications

About You

You will thrive in this role if you present all or most of the below aspects:

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Possess excellent organisational and time management skills
• Knowledge of basic accounting and taxation practices (GST, PAYG, Superannuation, etc.)
• Reconciliation and processing of accounts (payables and receivables)
• Extensive computer literacy skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
• Experience with business and accounting systems – knowledge of Technology One Finance system is highly desirable
• Knowledge of the racing industry would be advantageous
