We are recruiting a Social Media Strategist to support our social media work, which will include both promoting the company on social media and using social media for recruitment. This individual will be shared across our survey department and our business development department and will assist with diverse studies in a wide variety of areas, including transportation, education, health, the labour market, immigration and settlement, and housing. We expect that this individual will lead the development and monitoring of social media activities across multiple platforms to support recruiting individuals for employment and research participation. Our Social Media Strategist will also support other tasks as required, such as website management, developing blog posts, and developing other forms of sales content.

Our Ideal Candidate:
Our new Social Media Strategist will be an analytical and detail-oriented professional with a passion for research, client relationship building, and teamwork. As our ideal candidate, you will have demonstrated success in the following tasks:

• Developing, implementing, and managing social media platforms;
• Defining key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media plans;
• Creating content across a variety of social media platforms;
• Managing and overseeing social media posts;
• Staying up to date with latest social media best practices and technologies;
• Hiring and training others for the social media recruitment team, as required; and,
• Understanding the risks and corresponding solutions associated with using social media for recruitment (e.g. staff members, research participants).

You will be comfortable working in a firm where a diverse set of projects—both quantitative and qualitative— are the norm, and you are keen to work in a multidisciplinary team and learn new skills and competencies that are required in our sector on an ongoing basis. You will have excellent attention to detail as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.

Although not necessary for success in this position, other skills that would be a strong asset would include English/French bilingualism and graphic design ability.

Qualifications:

• Baccalaureate degree in a relevant field (e.g. communications, journalism, marketing).
• Experience managing social media across various platforms for a government, educational, or private sector organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (and French, if applicable).
• Experience working with clients.
• Experience building an online presence for a government, educational, or private sector organization.
• Ability to provide direction on a team and work with senior resources.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada and able to obtain security clearances required with the Government of Canada and Government of Ontario, which includes a criminal record check.

Location: Edmonton, AB preferred; other locations possible for the right candidate

Hours of Work: Permanent full-time, 40 hours per week; while hours of work for the position may vary— with overtime as required to meet the requirements and expectations of the position—we also work to support work-life balance through alternative work schedules when possible

Salary Range: $55,000-$70,000 per year (based on qualifications), plus benefits and performance bonus.
