About the Position

The role of Commercial Analyst is primarily concerned with forward-looking analysis and modelling. Emerging or hidden trends in the data, when correctly identified, may lead to significant opportunities relating to revenue or business enhancements.

Key duties will include:

• Contribute and support the delivery of the Retail group annual budget, Corporate Plan, quarterly forecasts and monthly projections.
• Extracting and working with large volume data, conduct analysis and modelling to inform and support the delivery of accurate commercial forecasts.
• Drive awareness of Retail’s business goals and key commercial levers across the retail group.
• Partner closely with a range of internal stakeholders in areas such as data, customer, innovation, pricing, and finance.
• Conduct analysis on the financial implications of changes to key business metrics against budget.
• Support internal stakeholders with business case development and assessment of benefits through financial modelling and analysis.
• Provide advice and support across the Retail group on the financial implications and process for evaluating projects.
• Assist in post project implementation reviews to gain insights on actual performance against assumptions.
• Provide comparable industry benchmarking data and analytical market intelligence to support decision making across the Retail group.

About You

We are looking for a commercially minded analyst with around 3-5 years of relevant experience, who has excellent analytical and data manipulation skills, and the desire and drive improvements within a business. Ideally, you will come from Energy, Telco, Retail, or related industry where gross margin and revenue are a focus. You could also be working for a professional services firm (big four or mid-tier), in an M&A/Transactions service line.

• Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Business.
• Proficiency in SQL queries and business modelling.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel, Google, Workday Adaptive or like applications.
