Royal Canin Australia & New Zealand (part of Mars, Incorporated) is on an exciting journey with a strong vision of what they want to achieve for pet health through nutrition by 2025 and beyond. They now have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and motivated Accountant- Compliance & Finance, to join their Melbourne based team in a hybrid working arrangement.

About the role

You will work closely with the Financial Operations Manager to draft internal control policies, including implementation, regular review and improvement of existing controls and help drive strong governance across the business.

You will also be responsible for partnering with various areas of the business in providing Finance support for their ERP system, MS Dynamics Nav. You will support the Digital Technologies Lead with the local systems change management process, including the core alignment with global teams.
Working closely with the Finance team, you will provide system support to the team when required, including being a backup to Accounts Payable Officer.

This opportunity is permanent full time and located in their Melbourne Head office in a hybrid capacity with 2-3 days per week in the office and the remainder working from home.

What would be your key responsibilities?

• Understanding and application of risk and internal control frameworks;
• Develop a deep understanding of the end-to-end processes of the business and the key controls required to draft internal control policies, procedures and instructions;
• Periodic reporting and review of systems to ensure strong governance;
• Assist in the internal control implementation, regular review and improvement of existing controls;
• Administration of MS Dynamics Nav from a Finance perspective;
• Provide MS Dynamics Nav training to the end-users, when it is needed;
• Take responsibility of MS Dynamics Nav security review and control;
• Being a backup for Accounts Payable Officer.

What are we looking for?

• 2-3 years of accounting experience in a large corporate or public practice (Audit)
• University degree within Finance and Accounting
• Experience with ERP (desired)
• Knowledge of and experience in core finance functional competencies
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to organize workload
• Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of customers
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
