Overview:
The Systems Engineer position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies like Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, GitHub and Azure DevOps. You will be responsible for assisting with keeping our internal infrastructure and services secure and running smoothly, supporting, and collaborating with global lab infrastructure consumers including software development and test engineers, technical support, sales engineers, as well as professional services. You will partner with peers and multiple global teams to drive our overall cloud initiatives by driving DevSecOps methodologies. This role requires strong communication skills, both written and verbal, primarily with technical multi-functional teams. This role is ideally suited to an individual who is passionate about system administration in hybrid cloud environments. You will be required to take ownership of systems and processes, and constantly improve them.

Responsibilities:
Leverage ServiceNow ITSM processes to manage and resolve requests, incidents, enhancements, and project tasks related to internal IT Infrastructure Lab Service team managed services

Provide DevSecOps process guidance, documentation, education, and assistance to development teams

Migrate workloads from on-premise hypervisor infrastructure to Azure and other clouds (IaaS and PaaS)

Develop, implement, and enforce governance best practices for security and cost optimization

Provide CI/CD application deployment guidance and support to development teams

Deploy, maintain, and monitor Windows, Linux, and macOS operating systems according to best practices

Maintain and advise on compute, storage, networking, virtualization, and data protection technologies in high availability and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) environments

Research emerging technologies and trends and implement when appropriate

Continuously improve your own and colleagues’ skills

Support systems used by development. (Azure, AWS, Git, Jenkins, Jira, etc.)

Scripting including infrastructure and configuration as code, such as PowerShell, Bicep for ARM, Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, Python, or Bash

Qualifications:
An experienced Systems Engineer with interest in Azure administration and strong problem-solving skills

Advanced knowledge of Cloud Computing. (Azure, AWS, other)

Advanced knowledge of common Unix/Linux/Windows Server management tools

Advanced knowledge of core compute, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies

Scripting/automation skills (Shell, PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, Azure ARM, etc.)

Experience in building DevOps pipelines. (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)

Advanced knowledge of Azure governance, including application integration (SSO configuration), RBAC, identity protection, cost analysis and optimization, monitoring, security

Advanced experience with implementing and managing Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) in Microsoft Azure

Familiarity with PowerShell scripting and PowerShell Desired State Configuration (DSC)

Commitment to utilizing infrastructure as code and configuration as code

Atlassian applications (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Statuspage, Opsgenie, Access) administration experience is strongly desired

Ability to work remote under general supervision within a globally distributed team
