Queensland Health Hiring for Principal Finance Officer Job at Brisbane Full Time

The role Reporting to the Manager, Business Services, you will provide local strategic and operational financial leadership and advice. Engaging and collaborating with diverse stakeholders across the division and executive team, you will lead key financial analysis, reporting, problem resolution and budget building activities to support Divisional strategic direction and drive improvements in compliance, integrity and financial performance. You will ensure high quality financial management processes, principles and frameworks are in place and complied with, as well as identify innovative and practical solutions to financial or system related issues. You will also identify and action business improvement opportunities and recommend strategies to realise the benefits within an environment of fiscal restraint.

The successful personYou will have:

• Demonstrated high level skills and extensive knowledge of both financial accounting and budget management processes and legislation within a large, complex organisation
• Expertise using IT and financial systems to ensure high quality and compliant financial management
• Strong capability in review, analysis and interpretation of information to formulate reports and recommendations to assist management decision making
• Credible and effective communication and advisory skills, with ability to interact effectively with senior management, build a cohesive team and foster positive and successful working relationships with a range of stakeholders
• A solutions-focussed, practical approach, able to work independently and identify solutions to emerging issues
• Ability to work well under pressure in a highly reactive environment, with a strong attention-to-detail, whilst understanding the bigger picture.
