About the RoleThe Nurse Educator is accountable at an advanced practice level for the design, implementation, assessment and evaluation of Division of Surgery nursing education programs, managing educational resources and providing nursing expertise related to educational issues in meeting the strategic priorities of Nursing Services within Metro South Health.

• Responsible for educating nursing team/s on the application of critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills and expert clinical judgement to provide safe contemporary nurse care according to NMBA standards.- Maintain high level of interpersonal and negotiation skills to inform and train the healthcare team of clinical practice updates and research findings within the Division of Surgery areas 1C, 3C and 4BT.- Coordinate, develop, implement, translate and evaluate clinical practice standards, guidelines, procedures and protocols using an evidence based approach as required.- Lead and support education and research to promote innovation specific to healthcare trends, to promote patient and service outcomes within the scope of the position.
