The role Reporting to the Manager, Business Services, you will provide strategic advice to staff at all levels on efficient and effective financial management practices, you will support the Division in achieving its objectives through resolution of complex business management issues and lead, and influence a business services team in the provision of business services along with manage the performance appraisal and development of staff. In addition, you will Investigate and drive the resolution of complex issues, providing support, evaluating policies and implementing best practices to enable the division to operate effectively.

The successful personTo be successful for this role you will be able to demonstrate your:

• high level skills and extensive knowledge of financial management processes.
• expertise in the use of information technology and financial systems, together with experience in the research and analysis of information to formulate recommendations and reports to management.
• ability to work as an effective team member and also autonomously with minimal supervision to meet deadlines
• knowledge of and experience with relevant legislation, policies and standards, with the ability to interpret, advise and apply the requirements of relevant legislation, policies and standards relating to Financial Management in the public sector.
• ability to supervise and manage staff in line with quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.

Although not mandatory, a professional membership of a recognised accounting profession would be highly regarded.
