At the QAS we support 450+ pre-elite and elite athletes from talented juniors through to Olympic, Paralympic and World Championships medallists to win on the world stage. We support both in-house squad programmes, partnership Programmes with National Sporting Organisations and/or scholarships for individuals who are on medal winning trajectories for international success.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Talent and Coaching, the Talent Lead is responsible for leading a team that will partner with sports to systematically identify, confirm, and develop future medal-winning athletes.

To be considered for the Talent Lead, you will have a background in high performance sport and athlete development and experience building and leading high performing teams.

As Talent Lead, you will:

• Design and deliver the QAS Talent Search to develop and implement world leading Talent Search initiatives across Queensland. These maybe sport specific, cross-sport and thematic searches to unearth the next generation of Olympic and Paralympic medal winning athletes.

We are looking for a leader with:

• Thorough understanding of high performance sport and athlete development.
• Experience working with athletes and coaches in an integrated way reflecting how athletes are trained and developed across areas including technical, tactical, physical and psychological skill development.
• Experience building and leading high performing teams and developing the individual team members.
• Experience in delivering programs at a state and national scale.
• Excellent communicator who can engage new stakeholders quickly and foster strategically aligned partnerships that are mutually beneficial.

You will preferably have a Sport Science Undergraduate or Masters degree and/or Human Movements Undergraduate degree. Experience in high performance coaching is also desirable.
