About the role
This position operates within the Investment Services and Finance Program which provides services to the Public Trustee, the executive leadership team and staff to support decision making, advance accountability and deliver high quality services. Your specific role will be to assist in the preparation of income tax returns to review stage and the provision of timely and appropriate business support and advice to clients in the area of financial and taxation accounting services. This role may be required to assist with supervision of administrative staff and reports to the Principal, Financial Accountant.

Key Responsibilities Senior Taxation Officers are required to perform some or all of the following business support duties:
- Contribute to the ongoing development of team members and assist in the supervision of the work unit
- Prepare complex income tax returns to review stage in accordance with set productivity benchmarks.
- Prepare taxation documents including business activity statements, Australian Taxation Office appeals or objections and registration/deregistration documentation.
- Reconstruct Capital Gains Tax records for the purposes of supporting income tax calculations.
- Provide sound and accurate advice relative to financial and taxation accounting services.
- Use information systems to provide service and advice to stakeholders.
- Contribute to an equitable, healthy and safe work environment.
- Other duties as directed.
