Queensland Government Hiring for Senior Business Services Officer (Finance) Job at Brisbane Full Time

• Provide high level financial support and advice to the Manager, Business Services for business operations including revenue and expenditure accounting activities, financial governance and ongoing development of a wide range of business strategies spanning the business needs of the Business Group.
• Lead the preparation of a Program’s annual budget estimates and implement procedures to maximise the accountability, efficiency and compliance with financial management policy, standards and practices.
• Provide high level financial analysis, scenario planning, forecasting and reporting to the General Manager and Program Management Team on a wide range of business services and strategies.
• Co-ordinate and collate claims for National Pest and Disease Program costs arising from implementation of the relevant Response Plans.
• Coordinate the reconciliation and acquittal of grant and research funding income.
• Provide expert advice and support to the BQ Senior Management and staff to improve financial performance and accountability.
• Provide specialist advice on expenditure and revenue accounting targets and activities, integrated budget management, and manage a complex budget with the management team.
• Identify financial, administrative and asset management problems and issues and undertake research and investigation action to implement solutions.
• Provide advice on financial management and governance policy and procedures.
• Manage a small team of staff to support the delivery of specific business services to the Program and General Manager.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships, networks and partnerships across the department and with stakeholders to keep contemporary with emergent issues which may impact on the business or governance of Biosecurity Queensland.
