• Contribute your knowledge and skills to a program of work that will generate and deliver statewide mapping and monitoring products.- Use open source and proprietary software and data management systems in a multi-user, high performance computing environment.- Interpret satellite and other digital imagery, spatial and other ancillary data to identify and map landscape attributes such as woody vegetation change and regrowth.- Participate in fieldwork and field data collection for the calibration and validation of remotely sensed imagery and derived mapping products.- Assist with research to develop new or improved methods for mapping and monitoring landscape attributes, including landcover and vegetation.- Work independently, and as a member of a team of scientific and technical staff, and contribute to the team and the Centre’s day to day operations, functioning and culture.- Contribute to the preparation of online procedures, reports, publications and presentations; and the reporting of data and results. – Support and utilise the governance policy and procedure, systems, activities and processes within the work unit to fulfil all obligations under legislation including the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 and the Financial Accountability Act 2009.- Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people. This position requires:

• knowledge of, or the ability to gain an understanding of large-area landscape mapping and monitoring programs, using remote sensing. – knowledge of, or the ability to acquire scientific research and development skills to produce operational landscape mapping and monitoring products in a high performance computing environment- experience in, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and experience in, field data collection using a range of techniques and equipment for calibration and validation of mapping products derived from remotely sensed imagery.- an ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment to deliver project specific products and activities, including managing and prioritising multiple tasks. – Your ability to communicate and engage with colleagues and project stakeholders.
