You will lead the content and social media agenda for the department. This is your opportunity to steer and lead a proactive content agenda with effective and targeted content, marketing and social media strategies for key projects and initiatives including major advertising campaigns.

You will join the Strategic Communications branch which is part of the Strategy, Insights and Advisory division. The branch takes a strategic, whole-of-department view of communication, managing the department’s reputation and providing context and consistency to all communication messaging. The branch focuses on a few key areas: strategic communication; media; online, social media and digital strategy; marketing and creative; and internal communication.

You Will

• Lead the strategy, planning, development and implementation of a department wide content marketing and social media engagement strategy.
• Build strong, co-operative relationships with internal and external teams to ensure effective, customer centric content is delivered.
• Manage a small, multi-disciplinary team, producing high quality social media and multi-channel content that supports communication and engagement strategies for the department’s programs and services.
• Drive content ideas and collaborate across teams to support a proactive forward plan, calendar and approval processes.
• Develop and evaluate the strategic direction of existing social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn and provide regular analysis and ing.
• Oversee the effective storytelling and engaging visual representations of the department’s content brand in alignment with the Queensland Government and agency’s brand guidelines.
• Ensure the digital communications offering is well-supported with the relevant policies, procedures and workflow options to allow for flexibility and timely delivery of product and services.
• Adopt a continuous improvement mindset and incorporate innovative ways of delivering outcomes for stakeholders and client groups.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships across the Queensland Government and within the department to strengthen internal and external digital communications and build positive messages and information dissemination about the department.
• Actively foster a team environment and positive culture, where team members enjoy coming to work, are appropriately skilled and challenged, and understand the contributions their role plays in the in the success of business outcomes.
