Your opportunity

• Reporting to the Asset Accountant this role will assist with the delivery of asset accounting functions for Mackay Hospital and Health Service (MHHS).
• To provide expert timely and pro-active advice on Asset management and Asset accounting issues to support the strategic activities of the Health Service.
• Provide authoritative specialist advice to the Asset Accountant, Senior Finance and Corporate Services staff in Mackay Health in relation to Asset accounting and undertake research to adequately respond to new public sector financial management initiatives.
• Maintain appropriate policies, procedures, guidelines and systems to facilitate Mackay Health’s effective financial and asset accounting.

Your team

Finance Management consists of Financial Accounting, including Revenue, Assets and Management Accounting. The team provides routine and ad-hoc information, analysis and advice for various stakeholders such as the Executive, service directors, business managers and clinicians.

COVID-19 mandatory vaccination requirements

On 18 August 2021 the Residential Aged Care Direction came into effect, which applies to all Queensland Health residential aged care facilities and multi-purpose health facilities, their operators and to health services employees engaged under the Hospital and Health Boards Act who enter, work or provide a service in those facilities. This requires health service employees to have a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine by 16 September 2021 and a second dose by 31 October 2021 to enter, work in or provide a service in a facility. This requirement will be a condition of working in an aged care facility or multi-purpose facility through shared state, territory and Commonwealth authorities and compliance measures. Aged Care workers perform a critical frontline role in caring for senior Australians living in aged care.
