The essential requirements for this role are:
Comprehensive experience and understanding of the custodial correctional environment. Exposure to financial and/or resource management. Community engagement, key stakeholder liaison and/or working with special interest groups particularly in the criminal justice system. Exposure to managing staff particularly in relation to staff development and managing change and continuous improvement initiatives. Understanding of contemporary human resource management and industrial relations. Knowledge, interpretation and application of legislation, policies and procedures. High level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate on behalf of the agency with clients or other interested groups. Exposure to the criminal justice system or similar human services area and an understanding of case management in a human services field. Risk assessment skills, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to use office technology and computer software.
Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements
There are no mandatory qualifications for this position however formal qualifications in management and/or corrections (or a related discipline) would be highly regarded.
