Plan, implement, manage and enhance regional clinical education service delivery and ensure QAS education programs are consistent with regulatory guidelines, delivered to QAS standards and meet accreditation requirements within the region.Develop and implement strategies to improve clinical education programs and service delivery and ensure the QAS can effectively respond to future service delivery and business needs.Develop educational frameworks, identifying appropriate education and development strategies and practices to support the strategic direction of the QAS.Develop, analyse and implement standards, policies and procedures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiencies of clinical services within the QAS.Provide leadership to ongoing patient safety and improved clinical care through active participation in safety and quality committees; clinical audits; peer reviews; and clinical quality assurance programs and processes.Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional education by attending relevant seminars and conferences to ensure currency of knowledge and identification of future trends in ambulance service delivery, including clinical and professional education.Provide direction, guidance and expert advice on issues relating to education and clinical service delivery.Provide reports and recommendations on clinical reviews, audits, clinical trends and opportunities for improvement.Implement clinical policy for the region, focussed on continual enhancement of service delivery and clinical performance.Provide effective leadership and strategic orientation to the Senior Clinical Educator and the Clinical Support Officers by fostering a culture of best practice education delivery, professional development and leadership.Lead the ongoing professional development of regional staff through coaching and mentoring to ensure the continual improvement and development of clinical knowledge and skills.Regularly monitor and assess the clinical performance of regional operational staff to provide constructive feedback and highlight development needs.Develop efficient and flexible models of service delivery to ensure sustainability and enhancement, including the use of innovative technology to improve learning outcomes.Represent the region and Assistant Commissioner in consultations, meetings and forums with a broad range of stakeholders including the QAS, Queensland Health, other government agencies, emergency service providers, community committeesand consultancies.Communicate, consult and negotiate effectively and advocate persuasively to achieve desired outcomes regarding education service delivery and to facilitate key stakeholder meetings as required.Lead and manage staff in emergency management capability for disasters, major incidents and mass crowd gatherings, in close consultation with the Director Operations – Emergency Management, State Headquarters.Maintain credentialed scope of clinical practice as approved by the Medical Director and/or Commissioner, QAS.As a leader, actively demonstrate and promote the QAS’s approach of zero tolerance towards violence and commit to supporting those affected by domestic and family violence in accordance with QAS policies and mechanisms. Model and influence a workplace culture of gender equality, respectful relationships, diversity, inclusion, employee safety and support.Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Public Service and QAS values.
