Student Support Officer

Job description
The School of Law at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate to the post of Student Support Officer. The successful applicant will perform a critical role in providing advice and support to students, delivering a range of interventions for students experiencing personal issues that may impact on their success. With a focus on engaging with students to ensure they have the support, guidance, and high-quality information they need to succeed, the Student Support Officer will help deliver programmes that improve student experience and deliver essential information in engaging ways.

The successful candidate must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate you have:


A Primary Degree or equivalent.

Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a student -facing role to include:

  • Experience of providing advice and guidance to students in relation to student wellbeing and support.
  • Experience of developing and delivering workshops/training/group sessions
  • Experience of interpreting guidance, developing processes and setting up new or revised systems

Experience of IT based approaches to managing records and the ability to use data to spot trends and pre-empt issues.

Experience of creating, maintaining and use of IT for preparation of reports.

Ability to work effectively with staff and students.
