The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating shipments of finished goods to meet customer expectations and facilitates the preparation of all paperwork required to execute daily mail requirements.

This position communicates shipping concerns or issues with all departments to meet customer expectations and provides direction to Truck Driver and Material Handlers assigned to shipping warehouse.

Job Duties include but are not limited to :

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate loading and shipping of mail, commingle and carton jobs.
• Obtain shipping information from Logistics as required.
• Bills of ladings to be printed daily as job tickets are distributed.
• Prepare all shipping / mailing documentation.
• Ensure special shipping requirements are met for jobs requiring them.
• Work with vendor drivers to ensure correct shipment.
• Ability to execute and correct cycle counts.
• Interact with other departments to ensure the accuracy of information received for planning purposes.
• Staging shipments and loading trucks for shipping when needed.
• Demonstrate safe work habits and utilize Personal Protective Equipment when performing some tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS (Specific knowledge, skills, education and abilities) :

• High school diploma preferred.
• Previous experience in Traffic / Transportation with an emphasis on truck loads and less than truck loads.
• Able to operate a forklift and other heavy machinery needed within the warehouse.
• Able to communicate effectively with members of management, internal and external customers, suppliers, and other team members.
• Able to effectively analyze problems and identify practical solutions.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

This position is not physically demanding. The employee is primarily sitting while performing the duties of the position and requires frequent walking, bending, stooping and occasionally climbing stairs / ladders.
