Software Engineer
We are currently recruiting a Software Engineer to join our engineering team, located in Sydney. This role will work under the guidance of the Principal Engineer, across complex technical tasks for both whole and parts of projects.
The position will be embedded within the team of our Defence, Science and Technology client, to provide technical software support. Day to day, this role will include problem solving, programming (i.e. C++), technical writing, communicating and presenting results and involvement in simulation and modelling activities.
As Software Engineer , your responsibilities will involve:
Using your knowledge and experience to solve complex problems
Shaping, describing and delivering whole or parts of projects
Being proactive in forming successful relationships with the customer
Representing QinetiQ and our ethos in all interactions with the customer
Advising the customer on project scope, methods, complexity and risk
To be successful in the role of Software Engineer , you will need to bring:
2+ years of experience in a similar role
A degree in Software Engineering or a related discipline
Defence experience is highly advantageous
Problem solving skills
Excellent communication – both written and verbal
Experience using MATLAB and AnyLogic (desirable)
Experience using Python and C++ (desirable)
Candidates will need to be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
