We are currently seeking to recruit a to join our team. The Production Supervisor will work closely with the Operations Support Specialists and the Director of Operations to lead a dedicated team of technicians who are responsible for the new manufacture, repair, acceptance testing and certification of the assemblies and sub-assemblies that make up the unmanned vehicle systems and associated support equipment that QinetiQ Target Systems designs, manufactures, repairs, and operates globally.
The role involves:
Supervising a team of Technologists ensuring they have the skills and tools required to produce the assemblies to be delivered by the business.
Ensure shop space is kept in good order, working with Engineering and Field Operations to manage the demands on the production floor space and electronics room space.
Work with the Operations Supply Specialists to ensure necessary materials are on order and available to ensure on time delivery of customer orders.
Lead a team of technologists on manufacturing projects, providing hands on support as necessary.
Work with Production Engineering Team to develop manufacturing and testing processes, build instructions, and other supporting documentation.
Required skills:
Two-year technician programs, Two-year technologist diploma programs, military programs, journeyman programs, degree programs or equivalent relevant experience.
5+ Years’ experience leading a multi-disciplinary team in a production or manufacturing environment.
Experience with mechanical/electrical subsystems
Solid troubleshooting abilities and techniques
Experience with ISO-9001 Quality Management Systems
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Strong work ethic and ability to work under high stress and tight schedules.
Strong critical thinking ability.
High attention to detail.
Highly flexible with an ability to change and adapt to new information or demands.
A focus on quality and safety.
It would be desirable to have:
An understanding of Project Management
An understanding of the IPC 600 standards for electronics manufacturing
Experience with ERP software systems like SAP or Deltek Costpoint
Security Requirements:
Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
Able to obtain a Canadian Class 2 Security clearance
Must have a clean background history and obtain a criminal record check.

Sitting for extended periods of time.
Looking at a computer screen for extended periods of time.
Standing for extended periods of time.
Manual gross and fine-motor dexterity needed to conduct periodic inspection of worksite.
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
Lift a maximum of 20 kg.
