In 18 months, our graduates are upskilled technically and professionally, ready to advance the boundaries of technology and industry.

Embracing Listen, one of QinetiQ’s three core values, we have taken our Graduates’ feedback on board and we are thrilled to announce that this year, we have created multiple streams within our Graduate Development Program. Each role has been aligned to one of two streams:

Rotational Stream: Targeted at graduates who are keen to allow curiosity to fuel their graduate experience, seeing them rotate through 3 different placements within our business

Fixed Stream: Targeted at graduates who know the niche capability in which they want to upskill. The fixed role will see the graduate stay in the same team for the entire 18-month duration.

Whether you’re experiencing a diversity of work through rotating around the business, or contributing to multiple projects within your fixed team, we will provide a structured learning program to all graduates.

As a graduate with QinetiQ Australia based in Adelaide , you will work alongside inspiring leaders who are established in their fields, whose professionalism stands out and whose customers trust them implicitly. All of our leaders are committed and want to invest in you, passing on their valuable skills, knowledge and niche expertise.

Joining our 18 month Graduate Development Program will provide you with:

A diverse range of projects; working to solve real world challenges

An 18 month structured learning and development plan

Opportunity to undertake various placements

Individual, dedicated support and coaching specific to your area

Opportunities to engage and network with peers, experts and leaders through communities of practice

Access to a suite of online professional development courses

Permanent ongoing employment

These roles will be offered in our Fixed Stream and will see you involved in a variety of activities, such as:

Full-stack engineering with the ability to be involved in the full Software Development Lifecycle

Working with a variety of technologies and languages depending on the project (C++, Python and other popular OO languages are common)

Involvement with web-based projects, ranging from Django/Express backends to React/Angular/Vue frontends

Holding accountability for the support and delivery of allocated software engineering work packages

Preparing documentation to meet appropriate standards

Regular communication/liaison with Team Lead/Project Manager, clients and external stakeholders

Identifying opportunities for improvement

No project is ever the same! You will be exposed to new languages and innovative, commercially sensitive technologies and be constantly learning!

To be eligible to join our program in October 2022, you must have already completed an appropriate university degree in an area such as Software Engineering or Computer Science. To be eligible to join our program in February 2023, you must be due to complete your studies in 2022 or have completed your studies within the last 12 months. In both cases, we are looking for applicants with less than 12 months’ work experience. All applicants will need to be eligible for an Australian Government Security Clearance requiring you to be an Australian citizen.
