TITLE: Appraisal Reviewer REPORTS TO: Appraisal Review Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for helping manage the appraisal/evaluation process for residential or commercial loans. This position also provides improved controls and ensures policy compliance by the use of a formal appraisal/evaluation review process for commercial and residential properties. In addition, the reviewer’s role is to support and monitor policy and regulatory compliance as well as provide subject matter expertise to the banks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform appraisal reviews on all construction loans; loans for condo conversion, acquisition/refinancing of multifamily/apartments, office-warehouse/flex space, retail/shopping center, hotel/motel; single purpose real estate, OREO etc.

• Perform collateral inspection and due diligence of real estate collateral as deemed necessary.

• Coordinate and work closely with supporting staff within the Credit Administration Department and maintain appraisals database and statistical information.

• Prioritize the completion of reviews to meet the varying needs of all internal clients.

• Work closely with appraisers to solve issues discovered during the review.

• Provide feedback on quality and timing of appraisals to Appraisal Review Officer for maintenance of the bank’s approved appraiser list.

• Perform internal Evaluations for loans that do not require appraisals and updated valuations when some time has elapsed since the original appraisal was received.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain and monitor lists and records of bank approved appraisers.
• Review appraisals/evaluations to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Review appraisals to ensure the methodology demonstrated in the report is consistent with the estimate of value.
• Provide training and orientation to new lenders in connection with appraisals.
• Work closely with lenders and appraisers to resolve discrepancies or other issues.
• Assist with departmental preparations for regulatory exams
• Complete real estate market reports for primary lending markets

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in finance/Accounting/Economics; Associates Degree in Business Administration and/or State Certified and Real Estate related disciplines.
• State Certified Appraiser —preferred.
• Five years experience in Real Estate Appraisals involving commercial real estate special purpose properties, multifamily, office/warehouse flex, etc. Advanced knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point.
• Must be detailed oriented with excellent analytical and writing skills.
• Ability to work as a team and independently, including making sound decisions
• Thorough understanding of the Bank’s credit policy and products.
• Knowledge of the processes and standards for preparing real estate appraisals.
• Knowledge of the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act (FIRREA) – Title XI.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55,726.00 per year
