We are looking for a Senior Communications Specialist to be part of this journey and help bring it to life for our Operations & Technology teams, as well as QBE employees’ enterprise wide.

ing to and working closely with the Head of Communications, Group Operations & Technology, this role is responsible for developing and implementing internal communications activities to target audiences to support the Group Operations & Technology function and build engagement and awareness of technology and business initiatives.

Your new role

• Sourcing, writing, editing and publishing impactful content including news articles, key messages, information toolkits, infographics, video scripts and social posts for a range of digital and online channels including employee newsletters, intranet pages and Yammer/Viva Engage.
• Collaborating with global Operations & Technology stakeholders and other business stakeholders where relevant to understand business areas and produce communications to help share their stories.
• Supporting with the development of content for global Operations & Technology Town Halls and managing the delivery of events including virtual/hybrid Town Halls run on Microsoft Teams.
• Supporting with the preparation of a monthly employee newsletter, including writing content and building and distributing the newsletter in the digital platform (Staffbase).
• Assisting with the creation and delivery of Operations & Technology employee engagement campaigns to support key business initiatives and projects.
• Updating and maintaining intranet content on the Group Operations & Technology intranet hub.

About You

In order to succeed in this role you will need:

• Tertiary qualifications in communications or journalism, or a related field.
• Previous experience working in a communications role, preferably for a large organisation.
• Creative writing, proofing and editing skills.
• Digital and online communications experience.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Organised, self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated initiative.
• Experience working in a high-volume environment with multiple projects and the ability to prioritise work to deadline.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
• Some experience working on employee engagement initiatives and campaigns.
• Experience working with Content Management Systems e.g., SharePoint.
• Developed project management and problem-solving skills and experience working with video editing software would be advantageous for this position but is not essential.

Technology is fundamental to QBE’s future, and we are looking for a passionate Senior Communications Specialist to support this modernisation journey. While previous experience developing specific communications for technology topics is not essential, a keen interest in this area and being open and willing to learn will serve you well.
