QA/QC Inspector – Level 1 Full Time

Main Responsibilities

• Follow DCM’s Quality Control Manual and all site procedures.
• Review drawings (blueprints, isometrics, GAs) and basic specifications prior to work execution.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), weld maps, heat number maps, and quality documentation.
• Inspect received materials for damage; verify materials against MTRs and help maintain material receiving records.
• Ensure correct materials and heat numbers are used during fabrication activities.
• Support welding inspections, including fit‑up, in‑process, and final welds under supervision.
• Verify welder qualifications match applicable WPS and project requirements.
• Confirm welding consumables are properly stored and controlled.
• Check welders are working within WPS parameters and document findings.
• Assist in generating NDT requests and heat treatment requests (pre‑heat, PWHT, bake‑outs).
• Review NDE reports with guidance from senior inspectors.
• Support preparation of pressure test packages and assist with test coordination.
• Verify calibration status of inspection and testing equipment (gauges, thermometers, welding machines, etc.).
• Assist in monitoring mechanical equipment installation for compliance with engineering and vendor requirements.
• Participate in internal, client, or AI audits.
• Assist in generating Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs).
• Notify client/AI of upcoming ITP hold points with supervision.
• Support preparation and review of turnover documentation.
• Promote a strong quality culture on site.

Required Skills

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (blueprints, isometrics, GAs).
• Competent with basic measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, levels, gauges).
• Ability to interpret technical documents such as codes, welding procedures, quality manuals, and client specifications (with guidance).
• Foundational knowledge of relevant codes:
• CSA 47.1, CSA W59
• ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3
• ASME Section VIII‑1 and Section IX
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good planning, organization, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu.
• CWB Inspector Level 1 (Required)
• Journeyman trade certification (asset – not required)

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Shift Cycle: 14&7 (May be subject to change)
• Travel is required
