Job Summary & Role and Responsibilities:

QBS Learning is seeking contractors with proven experience in developing the US and state history assessment items for the middle and high school levels. Roles include writing and editing for upcoming long-term projects. Contractors are hired on a per-project basis, and rates are determined by the specific project and role.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in history or social studies field preferred

Work Experience and Preferred Requirements :

• 5 or more years of related experience with developing standards-aligned social studies content and assessment items, including multiple-choice, technology-enhanced, constructed-response, and short-answer items.
• Strong understanding of social studies standards and their application to item development
• Demonstrated experience at the middle and high school levels

Necessary Skills Set (Technical / Soft skills)

• Ability to synthesize expectations from various documents, samples, and project communications
• Meticulous eye for detail and ability to problem-solve independently
• Ability to adhere to a deadline-driven workflow and meet all agreed-upon dates
• Excellent communication skills, including a commitment to provide regular status updates and respond effectively to feedback
• Commitment to adhere to client guidelines, which are subject to change through the project
• Comfort with MS Office products and Google Drive applications

Contract length: 3 months

Part-time hours: 25 per week
