PWS Technical Services (UK) LTD Looking for HV Electrical Design Manager at Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire Full Time

This position includes some hybrid working/flexbility to work from home.

Due to an increase in contract awards, a significant forward order workload, and a dedication to continued profitable long-term growth, our client is now seeking to appoint an experienced Design Manager to lead and develop a multi-skilled team of engineering colleagues to deliver complex, focussed and detailed designs for all workstream areas. You will also lead the provision of an enhanced level of support to the Operations team to ensure all relevant contractual obligations are met from a design perspective.

The Role, Responsibilities & Requirements

• Enhance current design processes to reduce company risk and liability via formal validation, verification and approval prior to and during construction
• Improve internal processes and procedures to ensure all designs completed are appropriately checked, validated, verified and approved prior to being issued for construction
• Control design liabilities by implementing robust approval procedures to ensure all designs meet performance parameters and client expectations
• Lead and mentor an operations-based design team to strengthen their capability with regards to resource, training, competence and experience
• Develop and maintain a suite of company design procedures, standards, specifications and guidance documents, and enhance or improve if required
• Maintain continuity and consistency of competitive design production, ensuring that delivery timescales and targets are achieved
• Ensure your team of Design Engineers and Technicians are progressively upskilled to meet current and future work program demands
• Produce evidence that the team are achieving optimized utilization, and are meeting or ideally exceeding client set targets
• Create a robust QA process for all relevant project, contract or framework designs

This challenging and exciting opportunity, based in either Yorkshire or the North East, requires a highly talented and experienced design professional possessing demonstrable experience from the HV power sector, and this can be from having worked for a contractor, consultant or client side / DNO / IDNO organisation.
