About the team

Building technology assets is one of our top priorities in Tech Central, and you will be part of a digital asset delivery pod at the heart of this. These pods are customer specific and you’ll build technology solutions in collaboration with other technical specialists including Agile Delivery Managers, Product Managers, Developer/s, Tester/s, Technical Architects as well as subject matter experts from wider Tech Central teams.

Skills and experience:

• A background or interest in testing with a willingness to learn.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle,software test lifecycle and coding concepts.
• Awareness of the use of tools such as Azure DevOps for Test Management activities.
• Understanding of testing within a cloud environment such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure.

Key responsibilities

As a Test Engineer, you’ll look for ways to improve the efficiency of testing, through methods such as automation and risk based testing approaches and strive to use modern testing techniques. Key responsibilities will include;

• Test design and execution, both manual and automated.

• Championing quality engineering practices within the team throughout the design, development, delivery and support of products.

• Collaborating with testers, developers and other members of the team to ensure all aspects of testing (functional and non-functional) are carried out as required i.e API testing, performance testing and security testing.

• Encourage everyone (Developers, Agile Delivery Managers, Product Managers) to think about how quality is defined and measured.
