Senior Resourcing Manager – Capital Markets & Stakeholder Assurance – Audit

As a Resource Management Senior Manager in the Audit line of service, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering the Resource Management (RM) strategy and leading a team of direct and indirect reporting Resource Management professionals. You will work in partnership with the RM Team Leader and line of service senior leadership teams, acting as an integral member of the Operations Team to oversee the deployment of PwC professionals.
You will have the opportunity to lead a team to provide critical support within a fast paced and challenging business environment, developing skills known to be key for future successful leaders.
This role has a diverse joint portfolio to lead on the delivery of resource management for the Capital Markets Business Unit as well as the Stakeholder Assurance practice. As this is a new role, it is expected that the full set of roles and responsibilities will develop over time therefore the successful candidate should have a flexible mindset, enjoy working off their self initiative and are comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
About the portfolios
Capital Markets
From July 2022 the Capital Markets Business Unit moved into the Audit Line of Service. There is a client facing team of circa 75 FTE delivering capital market transactions. Building and embedding effective relationships across the full team is a critical part of this role given the dynamic and fast paced nature of the resourcing model. The resourcing team consists of 1 FTE Resource Manager (reporting into this role).
Leading process improvement initiatives and spotting opportunities to leverage technology to deliver operational excellence
Interpreting and analysing management Information (MI) to identify trends and opportunities and communicate and influence business leaders to improve profitability on engagements and ensure a fair allocation of work nationally
Influencing the Management, coaching and development of teams to optimise the delivery of an effective RM strategy, with a focus on Fair Work Access and business transformation
Promoting the use of key resourcing systems to enable effective and efficient resourcing, driving continuous process improvement and the introduction and adoption of new resourcing technologies
Building and maintaining business relationships with stakeholders, adapting appropriately to balance the needs of individuals and those of the business.
Align the Resource Management strategy and objectives to firmwide strategy
Collaborate with colleagues across Resource Management and other operational areas including Ops, HC (HR), Recruitment, L&D and Finance
Stakeholder Assurance
Our Audit business is a practice with over 6,000 staff with a presence in 19 offices across the UK, and comprises both financial audit and non-financial audit businesses. PwC’s Stakeholder Assurance team provides non-financial audit services related to enhancing the trust and transparency in non-financial reporting and emerging technologies.
About the role
Overseeing resourcing for our national Stakeholder Assurance business, working collaboratively with local BU resourcing teams to:
Develop and implement a strategy to drive more effective and consistent prioritisation and sharing specialist SAss resource both within and across BUs, such that prioritisation and Fair Work Allocation is considered with both a BU and national lens;
Oversee and optimise the resourcing of a a mixed book of both known and ‘blue sky’ demand, where lead times can be short from bid review to execution;
Enable our people, in a controlled and structured way, to be more agile to work on opportunities xProposition (and potentially xBU) within SAss, to develop a more ‘one SAss’ mindset and optimise the opportunities available to them;
Drive the development of more robust MI, to provide more granular and SAss specific insights to support national operations;
Work closely with recruitment to help influence, drive and deliver on a national recruitment campaign; and
Managing key stakeholder relationships, acting as trusted advisor on workforce planning, people deployment issues and prioritisation of resources.
About You
You will bring to the role a proven experience in Resource Management or Workforce Planning at management level
Strategy delivery – ability to interpret and align Resource Management and line of service strategies to create tangible operational activities for Resource Management Managers and Officers
Stakeholder management and influencing – effective liaison, challenge and influencing skills to build and manage long term relationships with stakeholders and senior leaders
Communication – communicating with impact using different communication styles appropriate to the audience
Commercial acumen – bringing a commercial mind-set and critical business acumen, including resourcing metrics and KPIs to inform decision making across a business unit
Analytical and problem solving – developing and driving solutions using MI and data analytics to improve profitability of the business unit. You will have knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI
Personal development – Continued professional development of yourself and others, seeking challenges and opportunities that stretch the team and provide an engaging work environment.
Leadership and people management – management of a team of Resource Management professionals with varying levels of experience, providing coaching, professional development and support
Resilience and ability to work under pressure – proven ability to operate under pressure with conflicting priorities, tight deadlines and demanding stakeholder needs
