Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) sits within our Risk practice as one of the fastest growing areas of the business.

Being a member of the C&G GRC team in Risk will see you working on a variety of challenging and career-advancing engagements. You will work across a diverse range of well-known clients within our Commercial and Government practice and have the opportunity to work on really exciting projects right from the start. We work with some of the top companies in the world across a wide range of commercial industries, as well as world class Government & Public Sector organisations.

We help organisations in building resilience throughout their organisation with excellence in governance, risk management, compliance and control.

We split GRC into 5 sub-propositions: Enterprise Risk Management, Controls Advisory, Compliance and Deals:

• Risk Management – Designing and implementing risk management frameworks to help Boards identify, assess and manage the most significant risks in their organisation.

• Controls Advisory – Designing, implementing and testing processes and controls, working with clients to develop and maintain robust internal controls over their key business processes. As an example, we work with a number of businesses to implement SOx (Sarbanes-Oxley) programmes to prepare them for a listing on the US stock exchange, or with UK listed organisations who are preparing for a response to the BEIS consultation.

• Finance Change – Working with clients to enhance their finance functions through the enhancement of processes and controls, understanding and supporting the development of capability and capacity of finance staff, and providing core accounting and finance support.

• Compliance – Helping clients embed compliance with policies and regulatory requirements throughout their organisation, and implement monitoring and reporting frameworks.

• Deals – We perform an assessment of our clients’ readiness for a proposed deal, through to delivering the Financial Position and Prospects Procedures (FPPP) report for stakeholders in the deal process.

The role

Our Governance, Risk and Compliance practice is currently expanding and we’re seeking talented, high performing professionals with a strong understanding of finance functions and / or knowledge of financial processes and controls to join our team as a Finance Change Advisory Manager.

We are looking for finance professionals to take a leading role on engagements supporting finance functions, particularly in relation to process and controls enhancement, capability and capacity enhancements and core finance function accounting and finance support.

We are looking for individuals with a strong background in finance, being a qualified or part-qualified accountant and/or having had experience of working with or in finance functions. Individuals should also be able to take a role in building the practice, owning client relationships and delivering complex engagements to senior stakeholders.

If you’re successful, you’ll undertake client work which could include

• Managing and delivering client facing and internal projects
• Leading teams to deliver engagements, including monitoring engagement progress and budget
• Acting as a Finance Change, process and controls subject matter expert on projects
• Developing and managing relationships with key client stakeholders
• Identifying and developing new client opportunities
• Support on proposals and bids.

You will also have people responsibilities including

• Developing junior team members through effective coaching and supervision
• Creating a positive and inclusive team environment.

Essential Skills

• Either a Part Qualified or Qualified chartered or certified accountant (ACA or equivalent)
• Technical knowledge and practical experience of finance processes and controls
• Possession of strong team working and leadership skills
• A willingness to learn new skills and help develop and innovate new client propositions
• Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and clients at all levels
• Strong report writing skills.

Preferred Skills

• A strong understanding of the different components of an effective Finance function

• Demonstrable experience of working on multiple projects, managing your time effectively to deliver high quality work to tight deadlines
• Commercial acumen and an interest in how complex organisations operate
• Strong analytical, logic and problem-solving skills.
