PULLMAN Hiring for Financial Controller Job at Cairns Full Time

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our team. Working across three of Accor’s Far North Queensland properties, this role will require you to be accountable for the entire spectrum of finance activities, including overseeing and maintaining accounting and financial requirements for the Pullman Palm Cove Sea Temple Resort and Spa, Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort and Spa and The Sebel Cairns Harbour Lights. The successful candidate will be a team player and be a season financial professional who will offer financial support, advice and expertise to three hotel teams to guide best practise and work to optimise the hotels profitability. This role reports directly to the Hotel General Managers.

What you will be doing:

• Reporting directly to three Hotel General Manager’s, this hands-on role will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Finance Department, and involve directly overseeing functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll operations and the hotel Month End process.
• Assist the hotel General Managers with compilation of the annual budgets and monthly forecasting.
• Preparation of all financial information for the Hotel General Managers, Accor and Owners ensuring accuracy and attention detail.
• Develop and monitor all financial systems for the three Hotels with a view to continually improve and streamline procedures.
• Ensure that policies and procedures set by Accor are implemented and internal controls are operating effectively.
• Be an active member of the three Hotel’s Department Head team, participating in hotel meetings and coaching department heads to enhance their department’s profitability and increase understanding and knowledge.

Your experience and skills include:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance or Accounting
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• An eye for detail and commitment to high standards
• A flexible approach with the ability proven ability to time manage in a fast-paced environment

Your team and working environment:

• You will manage a small team and work in a supportive and friendly environment.
• You will be primarily based at Pullman Palm Cove but be required to also work across Pullman Port Douglas and The Sebel Cairns Harbour Lights.
