As a Finance Manager– (Inside IR35) your main responsibilities would be:

Financial Process: Ensure management accounts, financial forecasts & plans, and other supporting processes and activities are delivered in a robust, compliant and efficient manner, such that expectations meet the required standards of stakeholders (internal and external to the finance function)

Financial Analysis and Insight: Production of meaningful and insightful management information in a consistent, high quality format.

Maintain and Develop Internal Controls: Ensure there is a robust internal control environment, to maintain accuracy of data and provide high levels of integrity and assurance.

Investment Appraisal: – Provide financial scrutiny on investment cases, showcasing value for money and ensuring that investment decision is taken based on appropriate financial input and analysis.

Lead and inspire others:

Demonstrate strong self-leadership and work proactively with our other finance professionals, to enable effective delivery and improve the quality of outputs. Collaborate with the wider Finance team ensuring best practice is shared across the function.

Work flexibility: Be flexible to cover emerging priorities as they arise and drop-in to address complex problems where the need is greatest.

Manage Stakeholders: – Develop and sustain strong relationships with stakeholders whilst promoting awareness of key financial regulations and championing a collaborative environment.

The successful candidate will possess:

Good leadership skills: the ability to work diligently and independently to solve problems and work through complex and / or ambiguous problems. A self-starter.

Strong organisational skills: the ability to effectively manage commitment and priorities, track and manage a process and provide assurance over the current position.

Excellent stakeholder management: experience in engaging & communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders (both within and outside of finance). A collaborative and proactive communicator.

A continuous improvement mindset: the ability to identify and work with others to deliver process improvements which support the wider service offering of the finance function.

Flexibility to take on varying tasks in accordance with changing priorities and adapt plans as the situation requires.

Delivery: a track record of providing high quality outputs (written, verbal, theoretical) and problem solving, which are effective in managing risk and improving outcomes for finance / DIO.

You will need to have experience in management accounting and wider finance processes including financial accounting, investment appraisal and financial governance. Wider experience and roles in relation to process improvement, change management would be welcomed.

• Month end experience
• Variance analysis
• Experience of Reporting
• Experience of Excel – Intermediate Level as a minimum

Qualifications:

AAT / CIMA qualified or working towards
