The post-holder will need to demonstrate a high degree of financial awareness, and have a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Experience of working in an NHS information environment is desirable but not essential.
Working alongside other financial staff such as Finance Partners and Financial Accountants, this post will give the successful applicant exposure to a wide range of finance functions and the opportunity to gain knowledge across all directorates of the Trust.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone wishing to pursue a career in accounts and finance and we would consider supporting study towards an AAT qualification.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
The role will require detailed work with financial systems and manipulating data in Excel to provide clear and concise reports for the business. The month end management accounts close process will require accounting journals to be posted into the Oracle financial system. Supplier purchase invoices will need to be processed by arranging for the correct budget holder to approve these invoices. Detailed staff pay costs reports will need to be updated and maintained to allow for full year forecasts to be produced. There will be a high level of Microsoft Excel use in all these tasks.

The Finance Assistant will be required to support the Finance Partners on a day to day basis and provide accurate financial reports to various directorates within the organisation.
The staff forecasts will need to be prepared, updated and maintained each month.
Accrual and prepayment journals will need to be prepared to ensure the correct actual costs are reported in the correct financial period.
