Remote Licensed Psychologist Mental Health Disability Evaluations About the Role The Licensed Psychologist will play a pivotal role in supporting our nation’s Veterans by conducting comprehensive mental health disability evaluations. This position serves as a clinical subject matter expert, performing one-time, non-treatment psychological examinations to provide professional medical opinions for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) claims. Evaluations are conducted via telehealth to assess conditions such as PTSD, MST, and anxiety disorders, ensuring Veterans receive accurate and timely disability determinations. Responsibilities Clinical Evaluations: Conduct standard outpatient psychological evaluations and Mental Disorder Examinations (MDE) for PTSD, Depression, and Military Sexual Trauma. Medical Opinions: Review service treatment records and authored comprehensive medical opinion reports to support disability claims. Clinical Review: Evaluate requests for psychological and neuropsychological testing and provide non-physician clinical determinations. Documentation: Maintain strict adherence to VA reporting standards and HIPAA privacy policies; submit all clinical findings within required turnaround timelines. Collaboration: Participate in peer consultations and team meetings to ensure consistency in assessment quality and VA guideline compliance. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience is required. Doctoral degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an APA-accredited program. Prior experience conducting VA Compensation & Pension (C&P) examinations or experience in managed care environments. Proficiency in Windows OS, MS Office (Teams/Word/Excel), and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom/Webex). Required Skills Diagnostic Expertise: Strong understanding of DSM-5 criteria and evidence-based assessment methodologies. Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills; ability to synthesize complex clinical data into clear medical-legal reports. Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priority evaluations while meeting strict productivity and quality deadlines. Independence: Self-motivated to work effectively in a remote environment while collaborating virtually with a clinical team. Preferred Skills Licensure: Active, unrestricted Psychologist license allowing for full independent practice in any US state. Board Certification: Diplomate status with the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) is preferred. Credentialing: ASPPB Certificate of Professional Qualification (CPQ) is a plus.
