Role Summary:

The successful candidate will take hands-on technical leadership and immediate problem resolution to clients with the highest level of courtesy and professionalism. As the Intermediate System Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting, configuring, maintaining and upgrading multiple systems. Working within a team, you will be tasked with troubleshooting and debugging deployment issues to provide a root cause analysis. In addition, you are responsible for maintaining formal documentation of managed systems for Psiphon internal infrastructure.

Key Duties:

• Test and validate functionality of products/projects

• Working closely with developers

• Also with customers

• Execute qualification and validation of the product operating platform

• Deployment and maintenance of containerized services

• Troubleshoot problems, analyze and isolate technical issues and provide a root cause analysis.

• Take part in daily/weekly calls in response to critical issues.

• Design, deploy, maintain servers, virtualization environment, related operating systems software, and hardware

• Evaluate and modify server performance

• Maintain integrity of the servers, server room

• Ensure server uptime and disaster recovery policies are tested and reviewed periodically

• Design and deploy new physical and virtual servers

• Design and manage operating system

• Troubleshooting and resolving helpdesk issues as second level support.

• Recognize deficiencies and implement effective solutions for continuous improvement

• Maintain server security and integrity with application of security patches and operating system updates

Skills and Experience:

• Proven industry experience in a system administration role on Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat) and Windows

• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMWare, QEMU, VirtualBox)

• Understanding containerization, creating, deploying and troubleshooting (docker, podman, kubernetes).

• Experience with databases, networks and patch management

• Knowledge of network security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and disaster recovery planning and implementation.

• Familiarity with programming concepts and scripting languages an asset (python, Go)

• Experience with Identity Management concepts including LDAP and Active Directory.

• Problem solving skills

• Written and verbal communication skills, documentation and training team members.

Salary: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
