Prudential Financial, Inc. is seeking an Actuarial Associate for the Actuarial team supporting the Company’s Group Insurance business. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical and communication skills with an attention to detail and be able to collaborate successfully with other members of the Actuarial staff, as well as with the Group Insurance Underwriting, Product Development, and Claims areas to achieve optimum results. The successful candidate will also be able to drive process improvements and transformation of technology to gain efficiency and accuracy.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

• Support and review both Valuation and Pricing assumptions for Group Insurance products, specifically for Long Term Disability
• Perform experience studies and identify key driver of changes
• Communicate and present results to gain alignment from various stakeholders
• Drive process improvements and changes from technology perspective for Group Insurance Actuarial team
• Collaborate with business partners to improve understanding of assumptions produced by Actuarial team
• Comply with internal and external regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated interest in actuarial science and insurance.
• Background in actuarial science, math/sciences, computer science, or other quantitative field.
• Curiosity, motivation, and ability to self-teach.
• Problem-solving team player.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Hard-working, detail-oriented person who takes pride in owning their work and is committed to quality of thought and accuracy.
• Productive in MS Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
• VBA, SQL, Python or other database/programming skills preferred.
• Open to remote/virtual location outside of commutable Newark, NJ location.

• Note: Prudential is required by Colorado law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Colorado resident.

Salary range specific to Colorado: ($63,400 to $90,100)+ discretionary incentive bonus + benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
