What the job involves
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and flexible People & Performance (HR) Advisor – who’s happy to roll their sleeves up – to join our team of people experts supporting employees and advising and coaching managers and department heads to successfully manage, develop and retain the best people to deliver our ambitious strategic objectives and business plan.
Working collaboratively our internal stakeholders to optimise people performance and deliver an excellent employee experience, you’ll manage a range of employee relations cases, support the development and delivery of effective change management programmes and create and iterate policies, procedures and guidance to ensure alignment with our organisational culture and working principles.
Establishing yourself as a trusted advisor – to both people managers and employees alike – is key to success in this role and will enable you to identify and maximise opportunities to support the development of our current and aspiring managers and drive action plans that capture learning opportunities and enhance the employee experience.
Part of a busy and growing team, in a fast paced and demanding environment this is a hands-on role which is all about people – so naturally, a people-centric approach is key! There will also be lots of opportunities to develop and grow your knowledge as an active member of cross-organisational project or working groups focusing on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Wellbeing or Employee Experience (to name just a few!).
What we want from you
We’re looking for a people orientated, self-motivated and hands on HR professional, who is experienced in building effective relationships with managers and employees; confident managing several employee relations cases at any time; and comfortable making decisions and problem solving on day-to-day HR matters.
You’ll need to have strong interpersonal skills and integrity, be able to communicate well with others and quickly build credibility. It’s a given that you’ll understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion when working in a trusted role with access to highly sensitive information and effectively managing a busy and varied workload won’t be anything new to you.
You’ll have in-depth knowledge of best practice and employment law alongside a good understanding of the principles of GDPR and how they relate to communicating, storing and processing employee data.
