The role

As a WordPress Developer, you will be a key member of our Software Engineering team. You are customer obsessed, love to deliver intuitive and beautiful web experiences, and enjoy growing your skills as well as sharing your knowledge. You are an effective communicator, and enjoy working across technology, design and marketing teams.

What you will be doing

• Design, implement, manage responsive, accessible and beautiful websites using WordPress
• Collaborate with members of marketing, design and engineering teams
• Design, craft and run WordPress training to content creators
• Maintain well-documented, reusable, and transferrable code
• Use your technical experience and knowledge to solve both business and technology problems

What you’ll need to succeed

• Experience in WordPress (e.g. experience administering wordpress, creating custom themes, installing themes and plugins)
• Experience in front-end technologies, including HTML/CSS
• A good understanding of web and mobile accessibility
• Understanding of how WordPress themes and plugins work
• Some experience in PHP
• Exposure to Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
• Some experience with JavaScript (e.g. JQuery, vanilla JavaScript)
• Exposure to JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React)
• Proven experience with WP Engine
