Overview

This role will work closely with the founders to iterate and implement upgrades to the platform based on user feedback and our product roadmap.

The role will mainly be focused on the frontend / user interface, but there may be opportunities to work across the stack depending on interests and experience. There may also be scope to work on specific data or machine learning projects depending on experience and interest.

Responsibilities

1. Work with the founders to ideate software solutions and features

2. Design client-side and server-side architecture

3. Build the front-end of applications through appealing visual design

4. Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications

5. Write effective APIs

6. Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency

7. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software

8. Create security and data protection settings

9. Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design

10. Write technical documentation

11. Work with data scientists and analysts to improve software

Knowledge/experience

1. Self-starter with the ability to get up to speed quickly

2. Willing to ask for help when they can’t solve a problem

3. Experience as a developer – minimum 2 years

4. Experience developing web applications – minimum 2 years

5. Experience with common tech stacks

6. Knowledge of front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)

7. Knowledge of back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python), JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js, ), Typescript

8. Experience with databases (e.g. MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design

9. Use of cloud platforms such as gcp (preferred)/azure/aws

10. Excellent communication and teamwork skills

11. Great attention to detail

12. Organisational skills

13. An analytical mind

14. Degree (obtained or expected) in Computer Science, Statistics, Design / Graphics or relevant field, or equivalent experience.

Further details

Package: £40k-£100k+ (made up of base salary + share options in the business).

Location: The role will mainly be remote but more face to face contact and meetings may be an option as we grow. We expect to have some team days through-out the year in Bristol and Bath.

FT/PT: We’re open to part-time and full-time positions.
