ProMedica Hiring for Transporter – Central Transport – Part Time – Afternoons Full Time

• Transports, assists in lifting, turning and transferring patients from beds to applicable transportation equipment using appropriate lifting techniques with regard to the patient’s condition and the equipment.
• Cleans and assures the proper working order of transportation equipment after each use. s defects immediately and follows through to ensure the equipment is repaired and checked.
• Monitors patient’s general conditions during transport and assuring their safety is appropriate.
• Obtains and delivers clinical equipment such as but not limited to IV Pumps and oxygen tanks to departments as needed and directed. Transports non-narcotic medications as needed and directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Successful completion of training in equipment usage, clinical aspect, customer service, patient mobility, and infection control
• Obtain and maintain Health Care Provider (HCP) certification
• Flexibility to work a varying schedule should the need arise, which may require working overtime (greater than 40 worked hours per week) and/or shift duration that exceed the assigned status for shift length and/or hours per week
• Physical ability to move freely about; to stand and/or walk for extended periods; to lift, position, and transport patients of all ages in a safe manner
• Ability to life a minimum of 75 pounds and transfer and transport patients continuously throughout the day
• Demonstrates standard precautions when transporting patients, materials, or equipment
