The company manufactures high-precision components and tooling for critical infrastructure and national security programs, including projects supporting Canada’s nuclear fleet refurbishment, Small Modular Reactor (SMR) development, and advanced aerospace and Canadian Defence initiatives.

As part of our continued growth, ATMIS is expanding its engineering team and seeking a Project Engineer to support complex manufacturing programs within highly regulated industries.

Position Overview

The Project Engineer will play a key role in managing and coordinating advanced manufacturing projects from concept through delivery. This position requires strong technical knowledge, project management capability, and the ability to work closely with customers, machinists, and production teams to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage manufacturing projects from engineering review through production and delivery
• Coordinate with customers, machinists, and production teams to ensure technical requirements are met
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances
• Support process development, tooling design, and manufacturing planning
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and technical milestones
• Ensure compliance with quality assurance and traceability requirements for regulated industries
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and manufacturing efficiency
• Support communication between engineering, production, and customer teams

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
• 2–7 years experience in manufacturing, machining, or industrial engineering
• Strong understanding of CNC machining, manufacturing processes, and precision components
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T
• Experience working in regulated industries such as nuclear, aerospace, or defence is an asset
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
