Urban Blueprint is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern or part time employee to support our Project Coordination, Interior Design, Architectural Design, and Construction Management teams. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple departments within a growing residential design-build company specializing in custom homes, additions, and major renovations throughout Toronto.
The successful candidate will work directly alongside our Project Coordinators, Interior Design team, department leads, and the company’s CEO and Director of Construction. The position is designed to provide exposure to all stages of the design and construction process, allowing the intern to develop a broad understanding of residential development, project management, client service, design coordination, and construction operations.
Responsibilities may include:
• Assisting with project coordination and construction administration tasks
• Preparing and distributing tender and bid packages to subcontractors and suppliers
• Coordinating trade schedules and assisting with project scheduling updates
• Managing and maintaining project information within Buildertrend construction management software
• Preparing finish schedules and specification spreadsheets for materials such as tile, flooring, paint, millwork, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and hardware
• Supporting the Interior Design team with product research, selections, and documentation
• Assisting the Architectural Design team with project documentation and administrative tasks
• Organizing project files, meeting notes, and client communications
• Assisting with procurement tracking, budget tracking, and project reporting
• Supporting site visits, project meetings, and coordination activities as required
• Providing general administrative support to various departments
Qualifications
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Workspace applications
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong work ethic
• Interest in residential construction, architecture, interior design, and project management
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
• Experience with Buildertrend, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software is considered an asset but not required
• Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to transportation
