Overview of Contract Civil Design Engineer position
 
One of our key clients has reached out the need to secure an ambitious, driven, and self-motivated Contract Civil Design Engineer to join their thriving team. The business itself is a household name in the Construction industry winning multiple awards and accolades and continues to develop and growing as a market leader.
 
As a Civil Design Engineer, you will be working on a leading Water schemes project worth upwards of £250m and be part of the Civil Design Engineering team working in close collaboration with the lead design engineer to deliver to the project.
 
Your Role as a Civil Design Engineer
As a Civil Design Engineer you will be responsible for assisting the production of designs and stakeholder management for a wide range of AMP7 infrastructure & waste water projects.
 
Key Accountabillities:

• Autonomous submission of your deliverables on time and to budget
• Production of all relevant calculations
• Maintain highly detailed project diaries to support the PM with timely Early Warnings and Compensation Events under our NEC contract
• Commit to working within a BIM Level 2 Environment
• Support, mentor and coach others when the opportunity present itself
• Ensure finished package of information is submitted defect free

 Key Responsibilities

• Implement project requirements to fully meet the client specification and in accordance with relevant standards;
• Prepare own discipline pipeline designs, drawings and schedules to the required quality;
• Contribute to the production of Project Management Plans;
• Support the preparation of scheme evaluations, design statements, tenders and any other required deliverables;
• Have a good understanding of all relevant standards, Codes of Practice, Health & Safety Legislation and current relevant design methods;
• Awareness of BIM standards such as BS1192, PAS1192 and ISO19650;
• Promoting BIM and digital delivery best practice;
• Engage in client, contractor and third-party liaison, including review of third party design proposals;
• Support learning and development of graduates and other team members.
