Process Remedies Hiring for Natural Gas Plant Operator at Midland, TX Full Time

Process Remedies is a company that has operated and managed the day to day operations of many oil and natural gas facilities across the country for the past 10 years. Locations include Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, North Dakota and Florida.

This contract operator position is essentially an internship at an established and successful midstream natural gas company operating in the Permian Basin.

Operators for Process Remedies are eligible to begin the hiring process with the company we are contracting to after 12 months. This is contingent upon the operator’s overall performance during the internship.

The ideal candidate for this position is a knowledgeable, experienced and positive operator who is eager to learn and grow as a natural gas process operator.

Job Description

• 1 operator is on duty for each 12 hour shift, 6am-6pm alternating day and night shifts between each work week
• Schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off, Thursday – Wednesday
• Cryogenic natural gas plant that processes 20-25 mmscfd
• 3 engine driven reciprocating compressors, cat-ariel packages
• Equipment the operator is responsible for being able to safely operate includes a Wonderware operating system controlling a natural gas processing plant with 3 engine driven reciprocating compressors, mol sieve dehydrators, JT valve, gas fired heater, a condensate stabilizing system, demethanizer tower, various centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, coalescing filters, 2 phase separators, multi-pass heat exchangers, remotely and locally controlled level/pressure/temperature controllers, a Motor Control Center (MCC), tank farm with 2 atmospheric condensate storage tanks and 3 pressurized bullet tanks, a pressure relief system with a flare stack, instrument air compressors, emergency shut down systems, etc.
• Operator on duty issues work permits for contractors performing planned and unplanned maintenance/repairs on all plant equipment
• Codes and process invoices from contractors for any maintenance or repairs done on location
• Maintains harmonious working relationship with management, gas control, contractors, visitors and all field and plant operations personnel
• Performs copper strip tests on NGL daily
• Inputs plant data readings into microsoft excel worksheets and emails to management 1-2 times each 12 hour shift
• Quickly & effectively adjusts behavior to meet a goal and/or changing circumstances, e.g., changed work schedules, a change in plant dynamics, strategic directions of the company, etc.

Compensation Package

• $25 – $50 per hour depending on experience and performance. A performance based bonus is figured into the hourly rate. For example, an operator with a $40 hourly rate breaks down to $30 base pay and a $10 performance based bonus that is paid out with each paycheck. The performance based bonus is there as an incentive to learn the plant you are operating, as well as maintaining good relationships with producers and coworkers.
• Overtime rate of time and half after 40 hours in a week (Monday – Sunday billing week)
• $0.56 per mile for each mile traveled from your residence to the plant every day that you work. 100 mile max per day
• Per diem pay if you live more than 60 miles from the plant AND you stay in Midland, or somewhere else nearby the plant
• Double time pay per hour for any company recognized holidays worked
• After 3 successful calendar months AND successfully passing the operator qualification tests, you will be eligible for a raise of $4 per hour.

Taxes

Operators for Process Remedies are 1099 contractors, which means that taxes will not be taken out of your checks. This can put more money in your pocket at the end of the year if you are proactive with handling your taxes and deductions
