Pay Rate : $15.50 / hr

This is a non exempt position.

Position Summary :

The purpose of this position is to support logistical activities at PFG with focus on supporting shipments to customers, transfers of finished product, raw materials, and sample shipments.

The intern supports the Supply Chain team on additional project work related to the implementation of an ERP system. The intern interacts with the Supply Chain team, and other functions in the company such as sales, manufacturing, quality control, and accounting.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :

Responsibilities include :

Order Fulfillment to Customers :

• Support the order fulfillment team in the shipment of orders to customers.
• Support logistical tasks to arrange customer shipments.
• Document shipping information as directed by management.
• Support the creation of international shipping documents.
• Support shipping of online orders to customers.
• Work with shipping warehouses directed by management.

Receiving :

• Support receiving and distribution of all inbound materials in a timely matter.
• Properly and accurately count materials received.
• Confirm and record the receipt of shipments.
• Complete receiving s in the tracking system.
• Work with accounting on receiving documentation, damages / returns and discrepancies to accounting.

Sample Shipping :

• Support the shipping and tracking of sample orders to locations worldwide.
• Create international shipping documents.
• Support online orders shipments to customers.

ERP Implementation Support :

• Support implementation of ERP system.
• Support data validation and testing activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications and Characteristics :

• Work experience in the area of shipping and receiving, and interest or background in science, or biology.
• Computer skills – proficient in Excel, and Power Point.
• Good typing, spelling, and grammar skills are necessary.

In addition, the individual should :

• Be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
• Possess strong communication skills : oral, written, email and phone.
• Have high attention to detail.
• Be able to demonstrate strong computer skills, including excel and word.
• Be capable of handling multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
• Be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Be capable of pushing, pulling and lifting various sized boxes.
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.
