Primary Talent Partners has a contract position with a large Textbook Publisher!

The Curriculum Specialist is responsible for curating and writing a wide range of instructional materials for students and teachers that are aligned with the strategic direction of the company and research-based pedagogy. In collaboration with our leadership team, editors, and writers, the Curriculum Specialist will write teacher support materials and Depth of Knowledge (DOK) questions that inspire in-depth thinking and engage students in collaborative discussion. We’re looking for a versatile Curriculum Specialist with classroom experience, as well as standards alignment experience, who can turn a passion for teaching into exemplary instructional materials that support and inspire students and educators worldwide.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The Curriculum Specialist is responsible for:

• Developing a wide variety of instructional materials for K–12, with a focus on culturally responsive teaching practices, compositional excellence, classroom sensitivity, and student engagement.
• Developing original educational assessment items based on specific nonfiction and fiction text passages.
• Mapping and aligning educational standards to content.
• Effectively organizing and completing assignments to meet our rigorous production deadlines and align with our curricular goals.
• Effectively collaborating with editorial and instructional leadership and other team members to initiate ideas and solutions, anticipate and resolve problems, and ensure excellent results.

Required Experience and Knowledge

• BA in education, curriculum design, educational technology, or related field
• 3+ years teaching elementary or secondary school
• 3+ years of curriculum development experience in educational publishing or educational technology (or comparable work experience)
• Experience with differentiated text and Lexile levels
• Knowledge of properly constructed multiple-choice and technology-enhanced test items
• Ability to focus on the details required to produce quality, standard-specific test items
• Familiarity with national and/or state educational standards, including Common Core
• Self-motivated and highly organized, with exceptional follow-through, initiative, and commitment to excellence
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Desire to be part of a team that’s changing the future of education and making a difference in the lives of students

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $30.00 per hour
