About the role

As an Assistant Accountant, you will be joining a dynamic team of 8 based in Pyrmont, Sydney. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for tasks in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory Management, month end processes, and monthly expense analysis.

Role responsibilities include:

• Accounts Receivable Invoicing – approximately 40% of time
• Accounts Payable including entering, matching, and coding Trade invoices and general services invoices
• Inventory management and reconciliation with 3PL warehouses
• Processing daily local and overseas payments
• Processing Forward exchange rate movements including open and close purchase and sales quotations
• Perform month end processes such as reconciliation of Prepayments, Fixed Assets and Intercompany
• Perform monthly expense analysis for Interest charges, Bank charges, Travel & Entertainment, and Promotions
• Prepare Commission summaries for entities
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and Accounts Team tasks as required

Best suitable candidate

• A Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2 years experience in an Accounting or Finance role
• Well organised, attention to detail, and ability to work accurately
• Strong communication skills. Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English
• Interest in identifying and delivering improvements to internal processes
• Work experience in SAP Business One would be an advantage

Office based in Pyrmont, Sydney.
