Logistics Lead

As part of our commitment to achieving World Class Manufacturing, the Logistics Lead is responsible for being a project leader in the Logistics department. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service to our internal and external customers through ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in all aspects of performance. They will provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the team. The individual is also responsible for supporting international initiatives by providing full analysis of opportunities, relationship mapping and business case development.

As a member of the Logistics team, the Logistics Lead works closely with general managers, account managers, buyers, manufacturing teams, engineers, coordinators, Trade Compliance Analysts, and product managers to support the Price business plan.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:
Manage the day-to-day operations.

Support logistics coordinators.

Help lead continuous improvement within our team.

Manage complex moves, plan, and execute load planning and assist in arranging for irregular transports.

Support quote requests, claims process, scheduling inbound/outbound freight.

Identify carrier opportunities to improve pricing and service.

Ensure & maintain shipments leave on time.

Ensure on time carrier performance.

Support projects including freight RFP’s and flexible loading solutions.

Maintain regular communication with buyers, manufacturing leadership and product managers to ensure alignment with business direction.

Lead/support development of relationships with carriers and onboarding new partners.

Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting on Price’s logistics activities.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Preferred 3 years’ experience in a logistics role.

Supervisor/leadership experience are an advantage.

Preferred Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or related field.

Focusing on cost savings goals and objectives.

Strong Negotiation skills are necessary.

Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and 5S principles

CCLP credentials are an advantage.

Working knowledge of North American import/export trade requirements.

Strong PC application skills including complement of Microsoft Office software.

Excellent planning, project management, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Proven attention to detail.

Strength in training and presentation skills.

A potential team leader with strong customer orientation.

High ethical standards.

Self-starter who is a creative out of the box thinker.

Possess high sense of urgency and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
