Controller
This role is a part of a succession plan to the companies current controller. The process for the succession is estimated to develop over a two year span. Reporting to the Controller the personnel will be responsible for monthly financial reporting and reconciliations, the flow and accuracy of daily transactions, and various analysis and project work.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:
Preparing financial statements and other financial reporting.
Reconciling and analyzing accounts, gross profit analysis.
Preparing journal entries and month end reports.
Foreign currency transactions.
Budget to actual variance analysis.
Statistical reporting of key performance indicators.
Preparing year end audit working papers and schedules.
Budget preparation and analysis.
Providing backup information for provincial tax and other audits.
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Completed CPA Designation.
3-5 years of relevant experience acquired after receiving CPA designation.
Leadership and management experience considered an asset.
Strong attention to detail with an interest in process improvement.
Proficiency in MS Office, with a strong understanding of Excel.
The ability to prioritize and multitask in order to meet deadlines.
Experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of ERP software.
Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills.
Corporate tax knowledge.
Desire to advance within the organization by taking on increasingly challenging tasks as well as supervisory functions.
