PRI of East TN is seeking CDL Drivers to Drive Dump Trucks, Tractor/Lowboy Trailer, Patch Trucks, & Concrete Trucks to job site locations for pickup, delivery, and transfer of Company construction equipment and materials. Applicants with background as a dump truck driver, heavy equipment hauler, concrete mixer truck driver, or other driving positions are all encouraged to apply.
General. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each Key Duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Key Duties
Performs Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspection (DVIR)
● Checks vehicle to ensure it is safe to operate.
● Checks tires, headlights, marker lights, stop lights and turn signals.
● Checks engine oil, power steering fluid, coolant level, fan belts and windshield wipers.
● Records DVIR and using ELD software.
● s vehicle defects using ELD software and notifies mechanic.
● Does not drive vehicle with known defect that could cause injury or property damage.
Operation of Vehicle
● Operates vehicle in a safe and professional manner regardless of location, speed limit, and traffic.
● Obeys State and Federal trucking laws.
● Exhibits “defensive” driving skills.
● Obeys weight limit when loading truck.
● Keeps floorboards, stepping areas, and hand holds free of trash, grease, rags or other obstructions that hinder operation.
● Operates control for tarping load and strapping tarp.
● Tarps all loads regardless of material being hauled.
● Operates bed controls for raising/lowering of dump bed.
● Operates control for raising and lowering of third axle.
● Hooks and adjusts tailgate spreader chains for tailgating material.
● Manually cleans (using a scraper and/or shovel) tailgate and apron after unloading.
● Keeps inside of bed clean of buildup of materials.
● When starting vehicle in motion, always uses lower gears.
● Monitors dash gauges (Oil, Temperature, Air, Tachometer, Speedometer, Amperage and Pyrometer.)
● Monitors conditions to the sides and rear of vehicle by means of the rear-view/side and spot mirrors.
● Constantly monitors company radio for change of assignment and dispatch.
● Completes and submits a daily haul .
● Ensures that Electronic Logbook (ELD) is compliant with Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
Qualification Requirements
● Minimum of 1-year experience of heavy construction equipment hauling, operating a dump truck, and/or asphalt patch truck.
● Must have safe driving record.
● Ability to perform all job requirements safely, including driving, loading/unloading equipment and materials, etc.
● Possess a valid Commercial Driver License (CDL); Class A or Class B (Tanker and HazMat Endorsements preferred, but not required).
● Possess or have the ability to obtain a valid DOT Medical Card.
● Must be eligible to work in the United States.
● Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
● High school diploma or equivalent not preferred, but not required.

● While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
● The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; bend and twist at waist; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
● The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
● The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
● Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and the ability to recognize the colors of traffic signals and devices showing standard red, green, and amber.
● Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
